Tiger adds Farmers, Honda, Dubai Desert Classic to schedule
Update (January 5 at 8:20 a.m): Tiger Woods has confirmed that he will play the European Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic at the Emirates Golf Club (February 2-5). He’s won the tournament twice (2006 and 2008). Rory McIlroy, Henrik Stenson and Danny Willett are also committed to play in the event.
Tiger Woods is set to make his return to the PGA Tour January 26-29 at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif., according to a tournament announcement on Wednesday. Woods has won eight times as a professional at the venue, including the 2008 U.S. Open.
News also came down on Wednesday that Woods will be in the field at the 2017 Honda Classic held February 23-26 at PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. This will be his fourth appearance at the event; he withdrew after 13 holes in the final round in his most recent appearance in 2014.
We now have confirmation that Woods will play in at least three events on the PGA Tour early in 2017, since he previously committed to the Genesis Open at Riviera from Feb. 16 to 19. And with the addition of the European Tour’s Dubai Desert Classic, the 14-time major champion is expected to play four tournaments in five weeks.
The last time we saw Woods in action was at the 2016 Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas, an unofficial event that counts for the Official World Golf Rankings where he finished 15th out of the 17 players who completed the event.

Photos from the 2026 OccuNet Classic
With the PGA Tour across the border in Canada this week, GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore stayed stateside and headed to the OccuNet Classic presented by Amarillo National Bank in Amarillo, Texas.
It’s always interesting to see what the guys are playing on the KFT, and this week certainly hasn’t disappointed so far, with some incredible wedge stamping on display.

No matter what the man does, no one will be satisfied. Let the man be and enjoy what years he has left. After all he was world number 1 for like 20 years. Geez, get off his nuts….

If you’re concerned about rooting for someone that hasn’t lied, or has a pristine personal life, there would be no one left to root for in sports, and that’s a fact. Why do so many people harp on something that he did 9-10+ years ago? Most Athletes are either womanizers or liars or both. Deal with it. I don’t understand people that can’t separate the 2.

What if they held a golf tournament and Woods either showed up or didn’t show up.
Would anyone care?

In short, Yes – the ratings prove that. Maybe not the hardcore WRX crowd, but literally everyone else.

I see a lot of “shanks” and can’t help but wonder why. He is exciting, he appears to have some game and fuel in the tank. I think if he plays in 20 events, he win have at least 1 win and probably 2. Either way, I’ll be watching and hoping for a duel down the stretch with one of the younger guns on tour.

I feel its because people want him to fail. They all got their little feelings hurt when he got caught cheating. They felt “betrayed”. He’s only a man, who is subject to temptation as we all are. However, there are some who forget that.
