Callaway has signed one of golf’s brightest young stars to an equipment deal, 23-year-old Daniel Berger.

Berger, the No. 34-ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Rankings, was previously signed to TaylorMade-Adidas. He recorded his first PGA Tour victory at the 2016 St. FedEx St. Jude Classic, and finished T10 in the 2016 Masters. He also notably finished T2 at the 2016 WGC-HSBC Champions event in China.

“I joined the Callaway Tour Staff because of the equipment,” Berger said in a Callaway press release. “And more than anything I wanted to play the new [Epic] driver. I’m excited for the year to get underway.”

According to a Callaway press release, Berger will use Callaway clubs, golf balls, gloves and an Odyssey putter. He joins a stable of young Callaway staffers including Patrick Reed, 2016 Masters Champion Danny Willett, Wesley Bryan, Ollie Schniederjans, Ryo Ishikawa, Branden Grace and Thomas Pieters.

According to a report, Rory McIlroy will also be playing a number of Callaway golf clubs when he tees it up next week in South Africa the European Tour, including the new GBB Epic Sub Zero driver.

Good signing. If he hadn’t gotten hurt last year I bet he would be ranked top 25.

With the PGA Tour across the border in Canada this week, GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore stayed stateside and headed to the OccuNet Classic presented by Amarillo National Bank in Amarillo, Texas.

It’s always interesting to see what the guys are playing on the KFT, and this week certainly hasn’t disappointed so far, with some incredible wedge stamping on display.
