Today from the Forums brings us an interesting conversation about Justin Rose leaving Honma Golf after just over 14 months into the formal agreement being signed: GolfWRX Forums: Justin Rose leaving Honma?

There was some speculation around the golf industry starting last week at the Honda Classic where Rose was spotted with a TaylorMade SIM driver in the bag and shot 72-74 to miss the cut at 6 over.

WRXers are quick to dismiss a full-blown departure as mere speculation, but all are keen to see what’s in Rose’s bag this week.

OP MooJersey writes: “I’m surprised there is not already a thread on this. Believe this was confirmed that Justin Rose is no longer going to play the Honma clubs.”
BdMac79 says: “Haven’t heard anything like that. He apparently has a clause in his contract that allows him some flexibility to use other brands as he pleases (i.e. the TW fairways and Vokey here and there, as well as the recent use of the SIM driver). Unless there has been something else…”
Bomber_11 writes: “He’s never been 14 clubs Honma. He’s experimented with drivers, fairways, wedges – and the Axis putter of course…This seems like speculation for the time being.”

We don’t have any other information confirmed at this time but are currently reaching out to both parties involved. We’ll file a full report when we know more and once we see what the Englishman puts in play this week at Bay Hill.

With the PGA Tour across the border in Canada this week, GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore stayed stateside and headed to the OccuNet Classic presented by Amarillo National Bank in Amarillo, Texas.
