Tweets of the week: SCUBA Bud, Dufner denied, the elf returns

Published

Rory McIlroy returned to the winner’s circle this week… Ah, enough babble. Time for Tweets of the week!

Last week, we checked in with Graham DeLaet as he set off on his buddies trip to Cabo. From the looks of things, the Canadian golfer and his moustache are enjoying themselves South of the border.

If you’ve had the pleasure (or displeasure, depending on your prerogative) of following one Ian James Poulter on Twitter for the past couple of years, you know he engages in a great deal of silliness involving this elf figurine, and asks followers to submit their own elf photos with humorous captions.

Poult’s elf has returned for 2013. Consider yourself warned.

Bud Cauley is taking advantage of the “offseason” to brush up on his…scuba diving? It seems the University of Alabama grad is now a certified diver

You’ve probably already caught wind of this one. Jason Dufner “petitioned” Tiger Woods to hold the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge Thursday and Friday, with the golfers playing 36 holes each day. Why’d Duf make this request? So that the Auburn grad can watch is alma mater compete for the SEC Championship.

Woods, however, was having none of it.

Dufner, for his part, didn’t take Woods’ decree lying down. The PGA Champion indicated he wanted an Al Czervik-like bag with a television ala John Daly has in the picture below.

A couple of Bubba Watson items: First, the golfer tweeted about the custom golf cart he’s slated to receive from manufacturer Garia. We all remember Bubba’s hovercraft from last year, so Garia has its work cut out to top the flying contraption. However, from the preview shot Watson tweeted, it looks like the company is doing just fine.

Here’s a second helping of Bubba. The golfer spotted a bobcat on the 16th tee at Estancia and snapped this shot. Perhaps the cat’s waiting for the group ahead to clear the fairway before he tees off?

Finally, here’s Kevin Streelman with a seal/walrus hat.

What is there to really say?

That is Elf on the Shelf. He hides it for his children every year from Thanksgiving to Xmas. The elf reports to Santa every night.

With the PGA Tour across the border in Canada this week, GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore stayed stateside and headed to the OccuNet Classic presented by Amarillo National Bank in Amarillo, Texas.

It’s always interesting to see what the guys are playing on the KFT, and this week certainly hasn’t disappointed so far, with some incredible wedge stamping on display.
