WITB Time Machine: Jordan Spieth’s winning WITB, 2017 Open Championship
At the 2017 Open Championship, Jordan Spieth offered up perhaps the most Spieth-ian performance in his entire career. There were stretches when he looked like the best golfer on the planet — one of the best of all-time, and other moments, that were too mind-boggling to comprehend. The same man who hit that tee shot on 13 on Sunday at Royal Birkdale also hit one of the best six irons in British Open history on the very next hole. Many will remember Spieth’s recovery shot on 13 and his directive to caddie Michael Greller to “go get that” after sinking a 50-foot eagle putt on 15, but the highs were amplified by the astounding lows Spieth was also capable of.
