PXG adds new Hot Rod ZT putter to zero-torque lineup

Published

on

PXG has been committed to new zero-torque putter options as golfers have shown more interest in the technology. The first model they offered was the Allan ZT in summer 2024, and with the addition of the new Hot Rod ZT, PXG now offers five models. Golfers can now turn to PXG for all their zero torque needs, as the company offer a few different mallet and blade options.

The Hot Rod ZT is built around a high-MOI mallet design that features a milled 6061 aluminum body. This precision milling process enables PXG engineers to precisely position weight around the putter for maximum performance. Under the beautiful milled hood are concealed tungsten weights that work with the 4 movable sole weights to increase stability and forgiveness. Changing out the sole weights will also allow you and your fitter to dial in the perfect feel and swing weight.

“Every detail of Hot Rod ZT was shaped around confidence, both visually and through impact,” said Matt Andrews, PXG Design Engineer. “From the way the mallet frames the ball to the sound and feel off the face, we focused on creating a putter that looks stable, feels stable, and performs exactly the way players expect when it matters most.”

Previously, PXG used an S hosel to create the zero torque balance, but the Hot Rod ZT now utilizes an offset hosel that comes out of the center of the club head. This gives the Hot Rod ZT its own look, familiar to many players in the zero-torque putter space. PXG engineered forward shaft lean into the putter that works with the added loft on the putter face to play like a more traditional 3-degree putter. The face is milled with PXG’s tried and true Pyramid Milled Face Pattern that not only helps with roll it also gives a nice soft feel at impact. Combining the shaft lean, face loft, and Pyramid Milled Face will deliver more consistent launch conditions and roll.

Golfers can choose between a standard steel shaft and PXG’s multi-material M16 putter shaft, which is stiffer and offers lower torque. PXG is also offering two different site lines, a full single line that runs the length of the putter or a shorter while line that is just on the front half of the putter. You can pick from any PXG putter grip they offer, but most will choose the slant-friendly Slant 1.5R, Slant Pistol Mid R, or the Slant Pistol R as they help create a more natural feel at address with their offset design.
