Tour Rundown: Hovland back from the absentia
The continued hiatuses of the LPGA and Korn Ferry Tours seeped into the third week of March. Just three of the world’s top tours hosted events ending March 23rd, and one of those was the unfortunate victim of a Thursday rainout. PGA Tour Champions entertained fans in Newport Beach, California, while the DP World Tour held a get-together in Singapore. The PGA Tour completed its four-week, Florida sojourn, prior to moving to Texas for the two weeks before the Masters. This week’s Tour Rundown is not as tiny as the last one, but it is a bit lean. Let’s use our best wordplay to make it worth your while, and run this down tonight.
PGA Tour @ Valspar: Hovland back from the absentia list
Viktor Hovland is a massive talent, both as a human and a professional golfer. His 2025 season had been an absolute mystery, with 22 and 36 his first two finishes. Things got worse, as the Norwegian narwhal missed his next three cuts and not by a smidgen. He failed to make the weekend at Cognizant, Palmer, and Players. His numbers looked like those of a walk-on in his first collegiate event, rather than the ones posted by a challenge for major titles.
It made all the sense in no one’s world, that Hovland found his game at Innisbrook, one of the tour’s tighter and tougher tracks. In a week when no one went deeper than 65, Hovland’s opening 70 was his highest number. He followed it with a pair of 67s, along with a 69, and claimed tour title number seven by a stroke over another resurgent force, Justin Thomas. It bodes well for the tour to have two of its mid-career names (Hovland and Thomas) find their games as the Masters beckons.
DP World Tour @ Singapore Classic: Mansell manhandles masses
The age of thirty beckoned for England’s Richard Mansell. He had moved around Europe’s tours for nearly a decade, with a few close calls along the way. Mansell won on the AA EuroPro tour, and had a pair of second-place finishes on the AAA Challenge Tour, prior to his arrival on the top circuit. He nearly won the Alfred Dunhill in 2022, before a final-day 76 derailed his chances. This week in Singapore, the Lichfield Legend left nothing to chance.
With Keito Nakajima closing fast on Sunday, Mansell ran five consecutive birdies on the front nine to enter the chase, then found one final birdie at the 54th hole, to close the deal. 54 holes? Aye, Thursday’s play was lost to the south Asian rains, reducing the event to three rounds. Nakajima was splendid on Sunday, with seven birdies against zero bogies.
Mansell reached the par-five 18th in two shots, but face a massive putt for eagle. His approach effort closed within four feet, and his putt for the win was center cut. One more name fell from the winless chart this week. Congratulations to the Singapore champion, Richard Mansell.
PGA Tour Champions @ Hoag Classic: It’s MAJic once more
No one would ever confuse the training regimens of the two, current PGAT legends. Bernhard Langer is the sort that abstains, while Miguel Angel Jimenez partakes. The King of the Canary Islands secured his 15th PGA Tour Champions title this week, closing with 67 to edge past Stewart Cink and Freddie Jacobsen by one. Jimenez is quite the distance behind Langer’s record of 47 senior titles. It’s a mark that no one should ever touch. And yet, when Jimenez wins, we often feel that he is much closer to that number than he is. Who knows why?
Jimenez closed with a clean, four-birdie card to hold off the fury of his challengers. Both Cink and Jacobsen had bogeys on their scorecards, and those simple miscues were enought to restrict their pursuit of the winner. The runner-up finishes for both were their best of the young 2025 season, and both should secure a title at some point this year. For the moment, a cigar and a whisky will suffice to celebrate the quniceanera of wins for el Rey Miguel de las Islas Canarias.

We like the new polos that Ghost is offering, as the fabric and fit are so good. These new Qualifier Collection polos breathe well, are lightweight, stretch with your swing, and of course look great. You can wear them on the course, in the office, or just out at a casual event and they will fit right in.

If your dad is an equipment aficionado and tinkers with his clubs, this tool works wonders. Removing grip tape has never been easier, just put a little head on the tape and the STR8-Strip peals it right off the shaft without any damage.
Why Golf: Putting Thing

When it comes to practice, it is good to have a purpose. This “Putting Thing” sure does it. We know from personal experience how challenging it can be and how rewarding it is on the practice green. This also provides some competition for your kiddo to see who will unload the dishwasher or do the next chore around the house.
OluKai Lae‘ahi Men’s Breathable Slip-On Shoes

Riding to and from the course in style and comfort is always a good thing. If you’re in a hurry, it’s a nice feature to slide into your shoes and get to the tee time. For the post-game shoe, at your locker or while putting your clubs away in the car. Nice to slide into a shoe that looks good anywhere. Pair that with meeting the family for dinner, no need to change!
Therabody Theragun Relief

A little wellness goes a long way. Keeping loose is a good way to go when it comes to the weekend game or treatment during the week. If there is a little ache or pain, the Theragun is there to help out. Help loosen up the back for a pre-game warm-up or cool-down.
