“Impressed!” – GolfWRX members get fit for Wilson Dynapwr drivers
Last month, four GolfWRX forum members — alongside our very own Brian Knudson — had the privilege to visit with Wilson Golf at Cabot Citrus Farms. The entire experience, which was first-class from top to bottom, has been chronicled in the forum here.

Wilson has enjoyed quite the re-emergence over the last two years. Last year, their Staff Model Blades and CB irons were a hit among the GolfWRX audience following the member trip to Pinehurst with the Wilson Golf team.
Now, 2025 marks another key year for Wilson’s revitalized line of products, as the company rolled out out a brand new line of Dynapwr drivers. These drivers were totally re-designed and are packed with technology, with a six-way adjustable hosel and interchangeable weights, allowing golfers to fine-tune their driver settings for personalized performance. The line includes three different models: Dynapwr LS, Dynapwr Carbon, and Dynapwr Max.

Naturally, our members could not wait to test the drivers and evaluate how they compete with what they had in their bags already and to see if they could really stack up against the leaders in the driver market. Before testing, members were already intrigued by the aesthetics of the driver, and following a late January launch, word had just started getting out in the forums that new drivers from Wilson are something that gearheads might want to check out.
In this video, you’ll see GolfWRX member Adam, also known as “Pure716” in the GolfWRX forum, go through a driver fitting with Wilson Golf’s Harry Nodwell. Adam is a 2 handicap, who has never tried Wilson Golf products, and believes the strongest part of his game is his ability with the driver. When applying to take part in this trip, Adam stated, “I’ve never been the longest hitter but it feels like driver is my straightest club in the bag.”
First Impressions from GolfWRX members
Pure716: “Before this trip I would have walked right past Wilson Golf on my way to testing equipment from Titleist, TaylorMade, Callaway, etc. Not anymore. Think about it – where else can you get a classic shaped, carbon driver for $100 less than other manufacturers? I said it on camera and I’ll say it again, if you are not at least giving @Wilson_Golf a shot, you’re doing yourself a disservice.”
ColdOkieGolf: “I was really impressed with the forgiveness on toe shots. I get the knuckle ball way left hook and the LS was much more playable, and kept the ball speed up. I hit some pretty awful shots and really didn’t lose as much as I thought. Feel and sound are both solid. It feels and looks like a premium offering.”
“The LS driver really impressed me today. I wasn’t sure if it could kick out my G430 LST, but being out on the course today.. it is darn close now. It was surprisingly forgiving for me.”
Radiman: “The LS driver is impressive. The feel is superb. The looks is compact. The face is tall. For anyone who is looking for that old school driver look will like it a lot… The Dynapwr LS beat my Qi10 hands down in the fitting.”
“I’m pretty confident that the driver will be put in the bag long term. It was every bit as fast as my gamer. Has front/back weight adjustability. Looks and feels fantastic.”

Red4282: “This year’s Carbon isn’t no slouch when it comes to spin. I found it to be equally as low spin as the LS. Just less fade-biased. Combine that with interchangeable weights, should be able to dial it in well.

Bonus Comment
ColdOkieGolf: “Bob Thurman, the global VP and GM of golf showed up – and what an awesome guy he is! I really loved hearing him talk about equipment and discuss the insights that went into creating this new Dynapwr line of drivers. He and the team are so committed to bringing Wilson back into the conversation. If you think the new drivers look a little TM like, a little Callaway like – it’s because they went out and hired some of those same engineers! The drivers flat-out perform. Listening to Bob talk about running simulations to tune the sound, improving how the face flexes – all this thought and detail that goes into designing new clubs. It really opened my eyes to not just Wilson, but really the golf industry as a whole. It was so enjoyable to just sit around and talk about all things golf equipment.”
We’re excited to share much more from this trip, with plenty more to come on Wilson’s impressive line of products and a full recap from the entire trip at Cabot Citrus Farms. If you can’t wait, be sure to check out some updates in the forum and join in on the conversation.

Slab city on the Korn Ferry Tour — Lead Tape Report
This week, we have our Tour Photographer, Greg Moore, on the ground at the OccuNet Classic at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas, for the 14th event of the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour season. With that, we see some great things in the Lead Tape Report as we roll into Amarillo.
Joel Thelen
Monday Qualifier, Joel Thelen is in the field this week. He has played on the Korn Ferry Tour for a full season in 2023, and he is back in action this week. A couple of clubs caught my eye this week in his bag.
First off: His trusted Titleist 816 H2 hybrid. This club came out in October of 2015, and it still remains strong in the bag. Also, take a look at this Odyssey White Hot OG 7, putting a capital S in the 7S model. This custom neck has some impressive lean for an arm-lock-style putter. The bottom of the putter is covered in tape for optimal weighting.

Mitchell Meissner
Taking a look at Mitchell Meissner’s bag this week, we have some great lead tape coverage. Top to bottom working from fairway metals, irons, and wedges. We can see on the short irons and wedges that there is tape at the base of the grip, adding a little counterbalance. Along with that, some tape on the short irons and wedges as well. Moving to his putter, he rolls the Odyssey 7 Bird putter. Meissner putts left-handed and strikes the ball right-handed.

- macedan: “Started with a hand-me-down Golden Bear set from my brother when I was in high school, never really played more than once a year or got into the game until about summer of 2017. First purchased a set of Cleveland CG4’s (I actually really miss this set sometimes, soft & not terribly large for a GI iron), moved into Nike Vapor Fly’s by the end of the year. Those lasted until spring of 18 when I decided I wanted new, so I traded them in for TM Rbladez. Honestly, although I liked the Rbladez, poor decision on my part, I think this was really about the only time so far that after a week or two I was kicking myself for not staying with what I had. Rbladez stayed with me until late last summer when I switched to P790’s and (knock on wood) I am hoping this will be my longest lasting set.”
- JimmyC59: “MacGregor Jack Nicklaus Triple Crown. Palmer The Standard. Still play these.”
