Love the MP-4s, which is one of the last great mb Mizuno has produced. Unfortunately, their decision to switch their forging process to the Grain Flow High Density (HD) has changed the way they feel. The MP-18, which IMO are arguably the best looking Mizunos ever, was the first generation of GF HD and they felt rock hard vs the old GF process using the same 1025E mild carbon steel. After the MP-18, Mizuno has been using a copper and nickel underlay to mitigate the harshness of the GF HD process in all the modern MP line. I had MP-14 then MP-33 back in the day and used them until they had no grooves left. I’ve since switched to Srixon as they are now the best feeling irons readily available in the US (not counting the small guys like National Custom, Artisan, etc).
