WITB Time Machine: Patton Kizzire’s winning WITB, 2018 Sony Open
17-under was the number in 2018. Patton Kizzire and James Hahn tallied it to meet in a Sony Open-deciding playoff.
It took six playoff holes for the Auburn University alum to take down Hahn (of UC Berkley provenance). Kizzire two-putter for a par at the par-3 17th hole. Hahn couldn’t roll in an eight-footer for par. The playoff was, at the time, the longest on the PGA Tour in more than five years.
“It wasn’t pretty,” Kizzire said after securing victory. “I was able to get it done.”
