GolfWRXer tarheelnation3 gets a Callaway Jaws MD5 wedge fitting
GolfWRX was live on location at the Ely Callaway Performance Center in Carlsbad, California, where forum member Jeremiah Webb (Tarheelnation3) was given the full treatment. He received a full wedge fitting for the Jaws MD5 and halfway through, got a surprise visit that took it to the next level…

“Last week when I saw the GolfWRX posting requesting a local SoCal guy available to skip work on Tuesday and go down to the Ely Callaway Performance Center for a chance at a custom wedge fitting with the new Callaway Jaws MD5 wedges, I jumped at the chance to enter. Fortunately, I was the lucky one selected for the GWRX x Callaway experience and today was the day for my fitting. Below is a synopsis of my fitting with a some pictures of the day. I am posting this in multiple posts given the length of it all, so please bear with me!”
“While it was an early day heading down from Los Angeles, it was well worth the trek. I met up with my fitter for the day Gerritt, as well as several other Callaway guys, including my man Tyler. While we waited for John (GWRX) to do his thing with some of the guys out on the practice facilities, I was able to take a tour of the Performance Center including the club build room on site. Obviously, like any GWRX member I geeked out in the build room and got to check out all of the on-site offerings. Gerritt walked through all of the items they had at their disposal, including the electronic loft/lie machine, custom molds they have for bending various clubs, etc. While in the build room, Gerritt also described to me what “actual” bounce is on most manufacturer wedges versus “stated” bounce on said wedges. We actually took my current gamers and measured the bounces which was eye opening. For example, my current 60* wedge is a “stated” bounce of 12, but in reality, it came out at 19 when measured…”
