Aaron Wise’s Winning Outfit: 2018 AT&T Byron Nelson Invitational

Published

on

The 21-year-old Aaron Wise pulled off a three-shot victory at the 2018 AT&T Byron Nelson Invitational — his first win on Tour. If you want to see the clubs he used, click here.

In addition to our Winning WITB series, where we show the clubs, shafts and specs from the winning player every week, we will also highlight the apparel they wore in our all-new Winning Outfit series. This is the first edition, and we hope you enjoy!

GolfWRX’s Resident Fashion Expert Jordan Madley says:

“First off congrats to Aaron Wise on his first win on Tour, but even more on his outfit choice for the final round. From a lady’s perspective, if you train hard, show off the hard work! Aaron, a Nike athlete neck to toe, showed off his lean physique in a Nike Zonal Cool polo, their slim-fitting flex pant, a stretch woven belt and finished it off with Lunar Command 2 kicks. The dark tones meant he was ready for war on Sunday and it worked!”

GolfWRX’s non-fashion-expert (but occasional fashion designer) Editor Andrew Tursky says:

“Wise went pretty conservative for his Sunday outfit. He was probably a little nervous trying to get his first victory and didn’t want to be too loud. Don’t get too fancy when it’s winning time; a good lesson for the folks at home. That’s not to say this outfit wasn’t sharp, though. White hat and white shoes is a great look, especially paired with the grey shirt and black pants/belt. Hits of white on the shirt with the Nike Swooshes bring it all together. Solid look here.”

Aaron’s Winning Outfit

Hat: Callaway Tour Authentic

Polo:  Nike Zonal Cooling Polo Framing (unreleased)

Belt: Nike Stretch Woven

Pants: Nike Flex Pant Slim

Shoes: Nike Lunar Command 2 Boa

This young golfer is so amazing, he can even make this commonplace logo-wear look good.

I love this new column. Please keep it up. I like the white hate but the white shoes with black pants is too much contrast for me. Gray or black shoes would have complete the look head to toe in my opinion. His belt choice was really sharp to smooth the transition from shirt to pant.

Published

on

A reminder from your friends at GolfWRX: Father’s Day is June 21. And as we do every year, we’re rounding up the best gifts for dad.

As we say every year, there’s no better golf-related Father’s Day gift than a round of golf with pops. Be it a country club or your favorite muni, take the time to get together to play 18 if you can.

Let’s get to the gifts.

Ghost Golf Qualifier Diamond Polo

We like the new polos that Ghost is offering, as the fabric and fit are so good. These new Qualifier Collection polos breathe well, are lightweight, stretch with your swing, and of course look great. You can wear them on the course, in the office, or just out at a casual event and they will fit right in.

Why Golf: Putting Thing

When it comes to practice, it is good to have a purpose. This “Putting Thing” sure does it. We know from personal experience how challenging it can be and how rewarding it is on the practice green. This also provides some competition for your kiddo to see who will unload the dishwasher or do the next chore around the house.

Riding to and from the course in style and comfort is always a good thing. If you’re in a hurry, it’s a nice feature to slide into your shoes and get to the tee time. For the post-game shoe, at your locker or while putting your clubs away in the car. Nice to slide into a shoe that looks good anywhere. Pair that with meeting the family for dinner, no need to change!

With the PGA Tour across the border in Canada this week, GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore stayed stateside and headed to the OccuNet Classic presented by Amarillo National Bank in Amarillo, Texas.

It’s always interesting to see what the guys are playing on the KFT, and this week certainly hasn’t disappointed so far, with some incredible wedge stamping on display.

Currently, in our GolfWRX buy/sell/trade (BST) forum, @HuskerFlyer is sharing a Scotty Cameron GOLO with a BGT Stability Tour2 2022 M Edition shaft. While the putter is certainly enviable, the Augusta-inspired shaft is equally noteworthy.
