The Best Guerrilla Golf Balls, One-Length Irons For Every Golfer?

AVL: My U.S. Amateur local qualifying experience
This past Monday, I played in the U.S. Amateur local qualifier at Rock Creek Country Club in Portland, Oregon. A full tee sheet from 7:30 a.m. to 1:55 p.m., the top 11 scores would make it to the U.S. Amateur final qualifying.
I teed off at 10:48 a.m.. With the 7:30 am tee time, you can get a feel for the leaders’ pace, and they were off and running on the challenging setup at Rock Creek.

Getting to the highlight of the round on the par five 17th, a drive up the left side and 212 yards left to the front hole location. I took out a 5-iron with plans of middle of the green. The ball ended up 8 feet left of the hole, pin high. A slight downhill putt dropped in for an eagle 3 on the 17th. With the cut line looking to be anywhere from -2 to even par. This was the boost I had been waiting for all day.
With making par from the trees on 18, it was time to wait for a potential playoff with a posted score of one under par 71.
Three hours later, it was playoff time. 8 players for 6 spots. I made par on the playoff hole, which was good enough to advance to the U.S. Amateur final qualifying in July. USGA qualifiers sure deliver on all of the emotions in golf!

On this episode of Club Junkie, I put the new Tour Edge Exotics Mini Driver to the test and break down the performance, forgiveness, distance, and where it fits compared to a traditional driver or strong fairway wood. Also, the Sterling irons can be easily tested by trying at a custom fitter/custom builder location. They have demo sets available.

I enjoyed the presentation. Please test with some slow swingers (80 – 85 MPH.) Also, I use the Snell and Vice balls. They work very well for me, especially with the moderate prices per dozen. Thanks.

Why use a few words when you can use thousands to say absolutely nothing. Is ‘Tech Tuesday’ an ironic title? Not for me.

Tech Tuesday? Where is the tech? 15 minutes of some wanker babbling on with no “tech”. 15 minutes of my life I’ll never get back….

This makes the two dudes who dress alike while droning on about the golf swing seem absolutely brief!

Please test them to see how they react with different types of clubs and swing speeds. So have a PW/6 blade, CB, GI club, Wedges (full and partial, chips), driver performance (again maybe a 90 mph vs 110), feel off putter face. It’ll be a lot of swings though is the main issue. I’m just wondering if different clubs work better with different balls, assuming a proper descending strike on the ball.

I think Peter he did a good job here. Interesting info on one length irons. I didn’t know that any other serious golfer used them. As far as golf balls go, I still don’t see the Costco balls in our store, or their web site.

I gave it a SHANK because it was 15 frickin’ minutes long. No, I didn’t watch more than a minute of it. Sorry, most important things in this world can be said in under 5 minutes.

Oh, you don’t mean subtitles because the guy is difficult to understand… you mean the small novel published in addition to the video. Got it.
