Pat Perez is officially a PXG staffer
It doesn’t look like Pat Perez’s Tiger Woods comments were a bother to Parsons Xtreme Golf in the lead up to this news: Perez is officially a PXG staffer.
Perez will make his first start as part of PXG’s staff at next week’s WGC Mexico. He’s had PXG irons in the bag since late last year, however, and the deal has been in the works.
“We were already working on a deal with Pat,” company founder Bob Parsons told Golf Digest’s Michael Johnson. “The signing wasn’t because of what he said about Tiger. Pat’s a local guy. I know him. He’s played very well. I love that he’s outspoken. I couldn’t see a reason not to sign him.”
Perez’s deal with Callaway ended last year, and it seems Parsons was keen to reward the Phoenix native’s allegiance to the Phoenix-based company.
“Pat likes us and has been an ally, a friend,” Parsons said. “It’s like what my dad told me about dating. He said the number one thing to look for in a girlfriend is one who likes you. If she doesn’t, the rest doesn’t matter. Pat likes us and we like him and he wasn’t signed with anyone so I told our guys to get him.”
When we caught up with him at the OHL Classic, he was gaming TaylorMade M2 woods with PXG irons. Perez’s PXG-specific WITB reads as follows, as per the PXG website.
- PXG 0311XF (3 and 4 iron)
- PXG 0311 (5-9 irons)
- PXG 0311 Milled Sierra Wedges (46 and 54 degrees)
- PXG 0311 Milled Romeo Wedge (60 degrees)
- Putter: PXG Gunboat
PXG’s PGA Tour staff includes Zach Johnson, Billy Horschel, James Hahn, Charles Howell III, Ryan Moore, and Charl Schwartzel.
Another interesting note, per Michael Johnson, Golf Datatech shows PXG has an almost 10 percent share of dollars spent on irons.
“We’re doing very well right now,” Parsons told Golf Digest. “We’re on track to have 25 fitting vans across the country and we’re conducting 20 to 30 PXG Experiences a month. I feel we can get to $100 million in sales this year.”

GolfWRX’s Father’s Day Gift Guide (2026)
A reminder from your friends at GolfWRX: Father’s Day is June 21. And as we do every year, we’re rounding up the best gifts for dad.
As we say every year, there’s no better golf-related Father’s Day gift than a round of golf with pops. Be it a country club or your favorite muni, take the time to get together to play 18 if you can.
Let’s get to the gifts.
Ghost Golf Qualifier Diamond Polo

We like the new polos that Ghost is offering, as the fabric and fit are so good. These new Qualifier Collection polos breathe well, are lightweight, stretch with your swing, and of course look great. You can wear them on the course, in the office, or just out at a casual event and they will fit right in.
STR8-Strip Grip Tape Remover

If your dad is an equipment aficionado and tinkers with his clubs, this tool works wonders. Removing grip tape has never been easier, just put a little head on the tape and the STR8-Strip peals it right off the shaft without any damage.
Why Golf: Putting Thing

When it comes to practice, it is good to have a purpose. This “Putting Thing” sure does it. We know from personal experience how challenging it can be and how rewarding it is on the practice green. This also provides some competition for your kiddo to see who will unload the dishwasher or do the next chore around the house.
OluKai Lae‘ahi Men’s Breathable Slip-On Shoes

Riding to and from the course in style and comfort is always a good thing. If you’re in a hurry, it’s a nice feature to slide into your shoes and get to the tee time. For the post-game shoe, at your locker or while putting your clubs away in the car. Nice to slide into a shoe that looks good anywhere. Pair that with meeting the family for dinner, no need to change!
Therabody Theragun Relief

A little wellness goes a long way. Keeping loose is a good way to go when it comes to the weekend game or treatment during the week. If there is a little ache or pain, the Theragun is there to help out. Help loosen up the back for a pre-game warm-up or cool-down.
World Cup golf apparel

Something for the soccer dads. Embrace the World Cup fever this summer on the course with custom gear to support the nation of your choice.
FootJoy Pro SL spikeless golf shoes

Give the old man a break and save his feet with the Footjoy Pro SL Men’s Spikeless Golf Shoes for some added comfort on the course.
Bushnell Wingman 2 GPS speaker

Combine all the hits as well as some game improvement with the Wingman 2 Golf GPS Speaker by getting audible distance readings from 38,000+ courses worldwide through the Wingman 2 remote or speaker.
Personalized Titleist Pro V1 golf balls

The No. 1 ball in golf is a safe bet, and the Pro V1 fits the largest chunk of the bell curve if you don’t know what ball pops plays. Add personalization for a, well, personal touch!

With the PGA Tour across the border in Canada this week, GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore stayed stateside and headed to the OccuNet Classic presented by Amarillo National Bank in Amarillo, Texas.
It’s always interesting to see what the guys are playing on the KFT, and this week certainly hasn’t disappointed so far, with some incredible wedge stamping on display.

Parsons has to be a total clown by saying we’re doing very well right now. Does he really think the average golfer will even think of buying his clubs at a price of 5000.00 dollars a set. The golf industry is struggling now for sales and some are closing their doors. Except for PGA or LPGA players I don’t see the normal person playing his over priced equipment.

Articles on some guys names Bryson, Perez, and the guy who hasn’t made a cut since August 2015 seem to be dominating WRX lately… (insert confused looking emoji here)

“The bottom line is, he knows he can’t win anything,” Anonymous internet poster said of Perez on his radio show. “He’s got this new sponsorship that he started, so he’s got to keep his name relevant to keep the sponsorship going. So he’s going to show up to a few events… he’s going to try to make some divisive, outlandish comments for headlines. “What’s the bag? He’s got to go out there and show the PXG bag, gonna show the PXG driver, he’s going to get on TV, you know he’s got the PXG hat, he’s got to keep that stuff relevant. The bottom line is, he knows he can’t beat anybody. He knows it,”

Seriously, any golfer who answers to ‘bruh’ is not where I would spending time or money. Especially a brand whose motto is ‘we’re expensive…and rivets!’

I was interesttd to see Pat back in the mix but surprised he would be critical of Tiger as he makes a come back.
I don’t think he will relate to the PXG buyers but that’s just my opinion.
Pat should just focus on his own game and act a bit more professional. He obviously has engrained thoughts and beliefs that will come out.

I’m sure PP is not getting much $$$. Whatever he gets he will have to payback for all the broken shafts he will have to buy. Clown owner and a bigger clown staffer.

With 2 wins in 20 years on tour, I bet the endorsements coming in from every club maker. Glad he picked the brand that is slowly making Zach Johnson and Billy Horshel irrelevant.

Feb 27, 2017 at 2:54 pm
it all makes sense now – brilliant move Mr. Parsons – make someone who most people don’t know relevant by creating buzz / controversy then announce PXG endorsement. puppeteering the media for free marketing.

Good for Pat, now he needs to learn how to get in all FOUR ROUNDS without a blow up round….Countless times the last 3 or 4 years Pat has three rounds worthy of top ten or better but his other round, be it the second, third or forth seems to slip away from him….he has to somehow break that “Daly Curse” where one or two blown holes need not be the end of a round….
