On-course test: Callaway Big Bertha Fusion vs. Ping G drivers

Published

on

I compare the Callaway Big Bertha Fusion and the Ping G drivers in this on-course test for golfers wanting to see how much a driver can really help your golf game.

Mark Crossfield has been coaching golf for more than 20 years, and has enjoyed shaping the digital golf world with fresh, original and educated videos. Basically, I am that guy from YouTube. I liked it. I am currently gaming I25 and thinking about G ls Tec. Or should I wait until Epic hits the scene?

I get it….not a sterile testing environment . The longer shaft was your friend. I visited your site for more details on both clubs. Good on ya Mark.

Personally I liked it. I think you prefaced it well by saying it’s simply a glimpse into how you do on course testing for yourself. It’s not necessarily a ful club or do you would you do a great job of as well, but it’s how you actually do your own course testing.

I do the same thing except I just number my balls or write on them which driver. I like the idea of using two different colored balls if you’re only testing two drivers

If Crossfield thinks many have missed the point, then this suggests the point has been poorly made.

???? many seem to have completely missed the point here. I will try again. ????

If the point is to compare two clubs, the there is no point. No comparison can be made that will help another golfer make a decision based on this.

This is one hole, a few shots and one golfer. This is the equivalent of any millions of golfers posting an Instagram video of themselves swinging two clubs.

You are a smart guy that gets it I think Mark. More is not always better. Just because you can produce a video does not mean you should. You know this is pointless. My assumption which I will admit is only that is that WRX has you down for a certain amount of content and this counted as one of those pieces of content.

You can and have done better. And you know it.

Unfortunately you are wrong on many counts of this post which I guess lies the issue. Thanks for commenting and I am not sure you have understood the point here at all still. Like i said I will defo try harder ????????

please confirm to me that you have missed my point t by telling me what you think I prove with this little test. Hope you don’t think I am argueing as I am more interested as to what you think the point is.

There is a valuable in here that thousands have got. ????????

WRX has officially jumped the shark. All about perceptual influence. Having people with influence do your work for you. This provides zero value for anyone.

All about them pageview and clicks.

AVL: My U.S. Amateur local qualifying experience

Published

on

This past Monday, I played in the U.S. Amateur local qualifier at Rock Creek Country Club in Portland, Oregon. A full tee sheet from 7:30 a.m. to 1:55 p.m., the top 11 scores would make it to the U.S. Amateur final qualifying.

I teed off at 10:48 a.m.. With the 7:30 am tee time, you can get a feel for the leaders’ pace, and they were off and running on the challenging setup at Rock Creek.

Getting to the highlight of the round on the par five 17th, a drive up the left side and 212 yards left to the front hole location. I took out a 5-iron with plans of middle of the green. The ball ended up 8 feet left of the hole, pin high. A slight downhill putt dropped in for an eagle 3 on the 17th. With the cut line looking to be anywhere from -2 to even par. This was the boost I had been waiting for all day.

With making par from the trees on 18, it was time to wait for a potential playoff with a posted score of one under par 71.

Three hours later, it was playoff time. 8 players for 6 spots. I made par on the playoff hole, which was good enough to advance to the U.S. Amateur final qualifying in July. USGA qualifiers sure deliver on all of the emotions in golf!
