How to win $2 MILLION and these awesome golf prizes
The 2015 FedExCup Playoffs, and chase to $10 million, are on a bye week. But while the PGA Tour players are taking the week off, golf fans can play in their own $10 million DraftKings NFL Millionaire Maker contest that begins on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m.
Note: The contest does not include the Thursday night game, but does include Monday night’s games.
Here’s how it works: Click this link to join the contest. Draft a team of 9 NFL players. Then cheer for your players during Sunday’s NFL games. That’s it, and it’s only $20 to enter.
The winner of the contest wins $2 MILLION, second place wins $1 million, and cash prizes are awarded down to 125,700th place. It’s the biggest fantasy contest… EVER.
But for GolfWRXers, we wanted to spice up the NFL’s Week 1 DraftKings contest with a few special golf prizes of our own. The top-3 finishers* who click THIS LINK for DraftKings’ NFL Millionaire Maker contest will win one of these three prizes.
- Mizuno JPX-850 irons
- Bettinardi Studio Stock 16 putter
- TaylorMade R15 3-hybrid (19 degrees)
*must be a first-time deposit
Check out more information on the prizes below:
1st place: Mizuno JPX-850 irons
The first-place prize is a big one — a full set of Mizuno JPX-850 irons (4-PW, GW) equipped with True Temper XP95 S300 shafts. You might not end up winning the $2 million, but these Mizuno irons are a gorgeous consolation prize, and are sure to improve your iron game, as well.
Read more about the Mizuno JPX-850 irons here.
2nd place: Bettinardi Studio Stock 16 putter
This gem from Bettinardi was part of a group of putters released in 2015. The face-balanced, fly-milled #16 putter is made from Mild Carbon Steel with an Olympic Bronze finish. It also comes with a Blue Pure grip and a Studio Stock Legend Blue headcover.
3rd place: TaylorMade R15 hybrid
Our third-place prize is TaylorMade’s R15 3-hybrid (19 degrees) that comes with a Fujikura Speeder 77 Evolution hybrid shaft. It’s built with a compact design that’s built for playability from a variety of lies, and delivers fast ball speeds across the face.
From our front page review: “The moment you pick up an R15 hybrid, you’ll know this club was built for versatility.”

GolfWRX Bonus: The ultimate Week 1 DraftKings NFL Golf Roster
If you play golf, but haven’t played DraftKings Fantasy football before, I’m here to show you the format, and also pick the ultimate fantasy football golf roster ever.
Here’s how it works:
Select a quarterback
The obvious choice here is Tony Romo, since he’s played highly competitive golf and once made it through U.S. Open local qualifying. But he plays for the Dallas Cowboys, and I hate the Dallas Cowboys.
Therefore, we’re going with Aaron Rodgers, the 2014 NFL League MVP. He also plays golf, and is likely to put up more fantasy points on Week 1 when the Green Bay Packers play the Chicago Bears.
Select two running backs
Let’s go with Doug Martin of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Matt Jones of the Washington Redskins, who both share names with professional golfers.
Doug Martin (the golfer) is a former PGA Tour player who once lost to Vijay Singh in a playoff at the 1995 Buick Open. Currently, he’s the head coach for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats Golf team.
Matt Jones (the golfer) is currently on the PGA Tour, and finished T4 in last week’s Deutsche Bank Championship
Select 3 wide receivers
After this golf-putt celebration, Brian Hartline, who now plays for the Cleveland Browns, is a lock for my fantasy football golf roster.
Then we have Torrey Smith of the San Francisco 49ers. Change his last name to “Pines” and we’re in business. But it’s close enough for me. Welcome to the squad, Torrey.
Lastly for the wide receiver position, I’m going with Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions. He’s the superstar in the city of Detroit — where GolfWRX calls home. Plus, he’s one of the most dominant receivers of all-time, so Megatron has to be on the team.
Select a tight end
I’m going with Jordan Cameron of the Miami Dolphins in the tight-end position, mainly because there’s an outside chance that Jordan Cameron is related to Scotty.
Select a flex player
The flex position allows you to choose an additional running back, tight end or wide receiver. I’m going with Greg Olsen, a tight end for the Carolina Panthers.
This video says everything you need to know.
Trick shots with the Brian Bros? Welcome to my fantasy football golf roster, Greg.
Pick a defense
I’m going with the obvious choice: the Philadelphia Eagles, since an “eagle” is worth two-under par on a golf course.
Here’s a look at my final fantasy football golf roster, where I managed to stay under to $50,000 salary cap:
Who would you draft on your fantasy football golf roster?

With the PGA Tour across the border in Canada this week, GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore stayed stateside and headed to the OccuNet Classic presented by Amarillo National Bank in Amarillo, Texas.
It’s always interesting to see what the guys are playing on the KFT, and this week certainly hasn’t disappointed so far, with some incredible wedge stamping on display.
