Actor Harrison Ford was seriously injured after crash-landing a small plane in Mar Vista, Calif., on Thursday around 2:20 p.m., according to NBC News.

According to CNN, Ford was piloting a two-seat, single-engine 1942 military trainer near Santa Monica Airport when it crash-landed on the grounds of Penmar Golf Course.

The 72-year old suffered cuts to the head, but was breathing and conscious when rescue crews reached him, stabilized him, and took him to the hospital, according to NBC.

“Thank God that this incident happened on a golf course where there is a relatively open space,” Mike Bonin, a Los Angeles City Council member, told NBC Los Angeles.

Ford is an avid aviator, and was also in a crash in 1999, when he made an emergency landing in a California riverbed while flying a helicopter.

He played on the Hawaii Pacific University Men's Golf team and earned a Masters degree in Communications. He also played college golf at Rutgers University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.

Was the one armed man who killed his wife flying the plane?

He might have walked away unhurt, with plane intact, if there had been a long par 5 handy. It’s the trees that get ya.

This kind of story sickens me

Why do newspapers think people are more important than golf

It is the other way around.

That was one of my early morning courses when I lived and worked and worked in LA. Right around the last hole a rooster would go off every morning and wake the neighborhood up.
