The Scorecard: The Greenbrier Classic

The scorecard is a weekly wrap up of the most important numbers from the previous week’s PGA Tour event.

The Front Nine

1.604 — Jonas Blixt’s putting average for the week — first in the field.

61.11 — Phil Mickelson’s greens in regulation for the week against a 67.44 average for the season — 34th on the PGA Tour. Mickelson missed the cut.

1.52 — Tommy Gainey’s recorded smash factor (ball speed relative to club head speed) in switching to Callaway’s new Optiforce driver.

79.1 percent — Blixt’s up and down percentage — T3 in the field.

T9 — Davis Love III’s finish at Greenbier. His first top 10 of the year.

39 — Blixt’s new standing on the FedEx Cup rankings.

T11 — Blixt’s best finish on Tour before his win at the Greenbrier.

The Back Nine

35 — Number of top 10s Matt Kuchar has had since 2010.

45 percent — Kuchar’s top-10 percentage vs. tournaments played in that time.

60.2 percent — Tiger Woods’ top-10 percentage in his career.

$1,206,179 — 19-year-old Jordan Spieths’ money total for the season.

6 — Time zones needed to travel from the John Deere to the British Open.

39 — Number of times John Daly had withdrawn from a tournament. He WD’d from the British Open today due to season-ending elbow surgery.

T9 — 2012 John Deere Classic winner Zach Johnson’s finish at the 2012 British Open. His best career finish.

With the PGA Tour across the border in Canada this week, GolfWRX Tour Photographer Greg Moore stayed stateside and headed to the OccuNet Classic presented by Amarillo National Bank in Amarillo, Texas.

It’s always interesting to see what the guys are playing on the KFT, and this week certainly hasn’t disappointed so far, with some incredible wedge stamping on display.
