Titleist announces Vokey WedgeWorks 64T Grind – High loft is back!

There was a time when 64-degree wedges were one of the hottest pieces of equipment in golf, and everyone wanted to try one. But that time has passed, and wedge manufacturers have pretty much ceased making wedges with more than 60 degrees of loft. For those of us who miss the days of the mega-flop shot, Bob Vokey’s WedgeWorks team is here to help.

If you are looking to produce height and spin around the green, then the Vokey WedgWorks 64 T might be exactly what your bag needs. The added loft will help carry obstructions to those tight pins, letting you get more aggressive in your shot selection. Vokey’s T Grind was used in order to allow maximum versatility around the green.

“The ‘T’ is a very versatile sole,” said Vokey Wedge Rep Aaron Dill. “It frees the golfer up to get under the ball easily when the turf feels firm or when they are short-sided. The last thing a player wants in those situations is a grind that doesn’t help them pull off difficult shots that require lots of loft and commitment.”

Keeping the leading edge down, close to the turf, when opening up the face is what the T Grind is about. Heavy trailing edge, heel, and toe relief allow open-faced shots, while the four degrees of bounce get the wedge through the turf quickly when the face is square to the target. This is one of the reasons that you see the T Grind in so many bags out on the professional tours.

The WedgeWorks team had to make this limited edition wedge a little more special, so they went with their Black Vapor finish. Black Vapor is a durable PVD coating that does not change the feel or performance of the wedge. Vokey also applied an FFP coating to the wedge that will reduce smudges and fingerprints that tend to show more on dark finish wedges.

Slab city on the Korn Ferry Tour — Lead Tape Report

This week, we have our Tour Photographer, Greg Moore, on the ground at the OccuNet Classic at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas, for the 14th event of the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour season. With that, we see some great things in the Lead Tape Report as we roll into Amarillo.

Joel Thelen

Monday Qualifier, Joel Thelen is in the field this week. He has played on the Korn Ferry Tour for a full season in 2023, and he is back in action this week. A couple of clubs caught my eye this week in his bag.

First off: His trusted Titleist 816 H2 hybrid. This club came out in October of 2015, and it still remains strong in the bag. Also, take a look at this Odyssey White Hot OG 7, putting a capital S in the 7S model. This custom neck has some impressive lean for an arm-lock-style putter. The bottom of the putter is covered in tape for optimal weighting.

Mitchell Meissner

Taking a look at Mitchell Meissner’s bag this week, we have some great lead tape coverage. Top to bottom working from fairway metals, irons, and wedges. We can see on the short irons and wedges that there is tape at the base of the grip, adding a little counterbalance. Along with that, some tape on the short irons and wedges as well. Moving to his putter, he rolls the Odyssey 7 Bird putter. Meissner putts left-handed and strikes the ball right-handed.
