Grant Horvat WITB: 2025 Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass
The Creator Classic returned for its second event on Wednesday, this time at the renowned TPC Sawgrass ahead of the 2025 Players Championship. 10 golf content creators competed in an eight-hole stroke play format, covering holes 10-17, with a playoff held at the par-3 17th. Grant Horvat, who played the eight-hole regulation stretch in 1 over, secured victory by sinking a 15-foot birdie putt on the opening playoff hole, edging out Chris Solomon of “No Laying Up” and George Bryan IV.
Driver: TaylorMade Qi35 (9 degrees)
Shaft: Fujikura Ventus VeloCore+ Black 7 X

Horvat says: “We got a Qi35 driver, 3-wood and hybrid. I have the Core model (in the driver). I actually love this driver right here, all the carbon fiber. When I look down at it, it’s my favorite club right now. I feel very confident over it.”
3-wood: TaylorMade Qi35 (15 degrees)
Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Blue VeloCore+ 8 X
Hybrid: TaylorMade Qi35 (19 degrees)
Shaft: Fujikura Ventus Blue HB 9 X
Irons: Takomo 201 (4-PW)
Shafts: KBS $-Taper 130

Horvat says: “For the irons, we got a full set of Takomo irons. But I went with a more forgiving model. Actually I started out with the CB editions, and then I just recently went to the 201’s. They’re a little bit thicker. I actually have an entire bag with them. I just thought to myself one day; I always like to try and play the bladier ones, and then eventually I end up going back to the more forgiving model…
“It’s cool (to own part of Takomo). I never thought I’d be owning a golf club company one day. It’s been so cool to see the success of Takomo, and just watching them grow with sales and everything. The direct-to-consumer model, taking the whole traditional model of going to the store for clubs. You kind of just go on the internet, you pick out what model you want, they’re half the price of normal irons that you would be looking at, and arrive to your doorstep really quick.
“First off, the irons feel amazing, they feel like some of the best irons I’ve hit. Also it’s really, cool. I feel like the YouTube golf demographic of people watching, they’re getting into golf, and they need new sets of irons, and so Takomo is just a great option, especially if you’re just getting into the game and need a set quick, and you don’t want to break the bank, too. So it’s been awesome.”

Do you idiots realize that he was playing a “creator” only event against other Youtubers? He’s not taking away anyone’s ability to earn a paycheck in a professional event. He’s just out there having fun in a silly season event

Awesome bag have enjoyed watching him and Bryan bros.. I had no idea until the younger guys I work with turned me on.
I have yet to try Tokomo irons, but now I will have too. This kid rips it and love seeing the cult following.
Thanks WRX!

grant trying to weasle his way into playing pro golf when literally thousands of real golfers trying to get a card. grinding away making no money.
having 1 million youtube followers has nothing to do with professional golf.
only metaverse kids living in la la land try to make some crazy connection.
imagine a youtube influencer trying to play in the nba against lebron.
only in golf….

He’s not playing against the pros on the PGAT, he’s playing against other youtubers. Learn, then comment.

Honestly you must be a boomer waiting for Ben Crenshaw to save golf. I don’t know if you have noticed but the pga is deader than dead. Grant is a humble fun energetic voice in a game that has lost its way professionally. If you love the game and want kids to play it after w are gone you should be thanking guys like him. Might want to sit this one out.

Over 1M subscribers on YouTube, co-owner in Primo golf apparel, co-owner in Takomo irons and easily one of the most likable content creators out there. But, yeah, clearly a loser. LOL

Imagine hating on someone who loves the game of golf and enjoys making content with some of our favorite golfers. The hate must come from the boomer purists who walk around with their noses up wherever they go 😀

Grant is one of the nicest guys out there – doing a lot of good for the game.
I’d rather watch one of his videos than the majority of TV golf.
