No matter what you or anybody says.. Tiger won’t ever consider himself done until he has 19 majors… if he gets there, we can have this discussion… this is a bit premature.. (she says)

Jack is the GREATEST, period. Aside from the fact he won more majors than Tiger, he was 2nd in majors 18 times (to Tiger’s 6, I believe it is). Jack was also an elite ATHLETE, in other sports, not just golf, which is more proof he was the GOAT.

Largely because change is constant and all pervasive, picking a “greatest” in anything is simply a “fool’s exercise.”

To be a GOAT, undisputed action in the game must be one of the criteria.
TW’s attitude towards penalties to be taken are seriously on the brink of breach in some cases.

What a load of garbage. TW isn’t even close to being the GOAT. In order to be the GOAT of anything, you have to be a quality human being and TW isn’t even a shadow of that.

Ben Hogan is the goat. Until the others have their legs crushed and almost die. Mr Hogan did it himself, no teacher, no video, himself only. Oh…did jack or tiger watch their fathers put a bullet in their heads at the age of 6 and then become the greatest ball striker/player of all time????

Different eras can never be honesty evaluated. Different competeters, different courses, different equipment But if you put a gun to my head and I had to name the Goat it would be Jack Nicklaus

I totally agree with your comparing era’s argument. It’s impossible. Jack had more competition without question. Tiger had more drama, more eyeballs etc. It’s always going to come down to what WE as golf fans think. I think Tiger is the greatest for a ton of reasons I discussed on the POD and others I didn’t have time to. Every point I made brings with it a valid argument against it. That’s what makes the convo so much fun.

He isn’t the GOAT. He could have been, but he found a way to fall short, the GOAT wouldn’t have done that.

From a moral standpoint you make a good point but the path is the path in my opinion. Whether its self inflicted or not you still have to walk it. Jacks resistance to external drama is def a check in the positive box for him. perhaps we call it strong moral will. fun part is we will never know who the actual GOAT is.

Club Junkie: Ping i540 irons review + L.A.B. VZN.1i putters and Graphite Design shaft sightings

Published

on

On this episode of Club Junkie, I dive into the brand-new Ping i540 irons and talk about where they fit in the lineup, their performance on the course, and who I think they are really made for. There is a lot to love — and maybe one complaint in the new i540 irons.

The show also covers the new L.A.B. VZN.1i putters that have started showing up, plus some new Graphite Design Tour AD shafts spotted out on the PGA Tour and what makes them interesting. Wrapping things up, I might swap a few shafts into some putters and talk through how those changes might completely alter feel and performance.
