About 10 years ago I was an assistant pro for a year. It wasn’t just the number of hours (~60 per week), it was the fact that all of those hours were on site. I work in IT now, and only rarely need to put in those kind of hours anymore. Even so, it’s a whole lot easier when it’s 40 in the office, and a then working a few hours online after putting the kids to bed.

Also, love the podcasts. I have a long commute and listen to a bunch. Having read transcripts of other podcasts I’d say that they aren’t as good as what you might think. Spontaneous conversation language doesn’t translate too well to the written form.

Seriously, stop doing podcasts. They are too drawn out. If anything, at least provide a written transcript for those of us who prefer to read a physical article.

+1 Podcasts are great but a written transcript would be helpful

Club Junkie: Ping i540 irons review + L.A.B. VZN.1i putters and Graphite Design shaft sightings

Published

on

On this episode of Club Junkie, I dive into the brand-new Ping i540 irons and talk about where they fit in the lineup, their performance on the course, and who I think they are really made for. There is a lot to love — and maybe one complaint in the new i540 irons.

The show also covers the new L.A.B. VZN.1i putters that have started showing up, plus some new Graphite Design Tour AD shafts spotted out on the PGA Tour and what makes them interesting. Wrapping things up, I might swap a few shafts into some putters and talk through how those changes might completely alter feel and performance.
