The driver that Patrick had before this 10.5-degree Ping G400 LST, was a TaylorMade M3 that was 8.5 degrees. I think he was using the same Aldila shaft in both heads.

That is a rather startling change in driver loft! Anybody know why? (I thought that in the Masters, ShotTracer showed Patrick hitting a quite low driver trajectory compared to other players; all the more reason to be confused about the loft on his Ping driver.)

most driver’s actual loft is higher than what is stamped on the head. Sometimes it could be up to 2* higher. Ping G400 LST’s are lofted to what is stamped (the std G400 are a bit higher than stamped, SFTec even higher).

My guess is that his M3 had a higher loft than stamped and/or his Ping is de-lofted and set to open at address.

He will soon enough. Have a club deal.
While reps are not permitted on the grounds at ANGC, at regular tour events, club reps swarm like seagulls chasing a 4 year old carrying a large bag of popcorn.
    One will capture Reed’s attention.

I heard him interviewed as saying that not signing a deal with an equipment company was key to his win. He said no one company can make all 14 clubs and a ball that best suit his game.

24 idiots marked this article as a “shank”. It’s a WITB article; what’s in it that would cause a “shank” rating? Brain dead golfers.

Haha I agree. Unfortunately the MB1’s are hard to find. Especially in any golf store.

It was a great master actually…you don’t like the guy, we get it. Don’t need to get personal. He deserved to win.

I might be Wong, but I understand Read isn’t tied to a major manufacturer’s contract this year. The golf bag looks it.

Pretty sure at least one of his wedges is a Vokey. Certainly looked like a Vokey he used to chip in for eagle on 15.

      Apr 7, 2018 at 9:29 pm

You’re right Casey. You can only chip in for an eagle with a Vokey. Everyone knows that.

Very nice of Reed to share like that
