Shot Scope V2 Golf Watch Offers GPS Distances and Stats

With today’s golfers having access to a plethora of different distance-measuring devices coming in all shapes and sizes, it’s difficult for a product to separate itself from the pack. Despite the success of big-name companies like Bushnell and Garmin, a Scottish company called Shot Scope has been producing quality products and quietly making a name for itself in the golf world.

Its new V2 Watch is unique in a number of ways. Most notably, the watch has three different modes that are tailored to the needs of different golfers: GPS, PRO, and GPS+TRACK. The watch uses the company’s SMART GPS technology to give yardages to the front, middle, and back of the green while accurately recognizing the golfer’s position on more than 40,000 courses. A software update that will be available later in the year will provide distances to hazards.

As essential as they are, many golfers want more information than simple yardages. Shot Scope understands this, offering tour-level performance tracking in both the PRO and the GPS+TRACK modes. Over 100 tour-caliber statistics are collected and analyzed by the watch. The stats are divided to fit into five areas: clubs, tee shots, approaches, short game, and putting. The data collection happens seamlessly through the company’s ClubSense technology, which allows the wristband to “sense” the small plastic sensors (provided with purchase) that golfers screw into the butt end of their grips.

The V2 Watch is currently available for preorder for $210 and comes with 20 club sensors. It will be available at retail October 1 for $250.

This week, we have our Tour Photographer, Greg Moore, on the ground at the OccuNet Classic at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas, for the 14th event of the 2026 Korn Ferry Tour season. With that, we see some great things in the Lead Tape Report as we roll into Amarillo.

Joel Thelen

Monday Qualifier, Joel Thelen is in the field this week. He has played on the Korn Ferry Tour for a full season in 2023, and he is back in action this week. A couple of clubs caught my eye this week in his bag.

First off: His trusted Titleist 816 H2 hybrid. This club came out in October of 2015, and it still remains strong in the bag. Also, take a look at this Odyssey White Hot OG 7, putting a capital S in the 7S model. This custom neck has some impressive lean for an arm-lock-style putter. The bottom of the putter is covered in tape for optimal weighting.

Mitchell Meissner

Taking a look at Mitchell Meissner’s bag this week, we have some great lead tape coverage. Top to bottom working from fairway metals, irons, and wedges. We can see on the short irons and wedges that there is tape at the base of the grip, adding a little counterbalance. Along with that, some tape on the short irons and wedges as well. Moving to his putter, he rolls the Odyssey 7 Bird putter. Meissner putts left-handed and strikes the ball right-handed.
