Golfers and this thing called the Ice Bucket Challenge

Published

on

The #icebucketchallenge is simple. Dump a bucket of water and ice cubes on your head, get it on camera and call out the next challenger. If you don’t subject yourself to freezing cold water within 24 hours, you have to donate $100 to the person’s charity that challenged you.

Golfers didn’t invent the challenge, but they certainly took it and ran with it.

Who brought this chilly challenge to the golf world? If you guessed social media enthusiast, Golf Boys band member, and recent U.S. Open runner-up, Rickie Fowler, you would be correct. Fowler’s video sent off a chain reaction on Instagram, getting PGA and LPGA tour players involved in the fun.

Feel free to make your own comparisons between the water temperature and (insert golfer’s name here)’s golf game of late. You’re welcome.

Here’s some our favorites below:

Here’s Keegan Bradley’s poor attempt at the challenge. Wanna get a smaller cup there Keegs? He should be paying at least $50 for the half-effort.

U.S. Women’s Open champion Michelle Wie got in on the action, and even called out Keegan’s woeful attempt. She’s been creating quite the buzz both on and off the course recently, celebrating her first major championship victory by drinking out of the trophy and twerking.

Luke Donald showed off an unexpected amount of athleticism in his respected ice water dump to the face.

Ian Poulter decided to go all out and dump an entire garbage can full of ice water on his head. In typical Poulter-fashion, he was standing in front of a soccer net for the challenge #WorldCup. Good luck getting Tiger to participate. I wonder which major championship trophy he would use if he did entertain this game?

Holly Sonders, in the most ‘Merica version of the challenge, called out golf course designer and golfing enthusiast Donald Trump to participate next. Let’s see how his infamous hair-do holds up to a bucket of ice water. In a more likely event, he’ll donate $1,000 dollars to Holly’s charity by accident thinking it was only $100.

He played on the Hawaii Pacific University Men's Golf team and earned a Masters degree in Communications. He also played college golf at Rutgers University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.

The most lame, most infantile, most unfunny, most pathetic and desperate plea for attention that we’ve seen yet. As social media fools run rampant, these multi-million-dollar-a-year Tour “professionals” will do anything for Yet More Attention.

Hey Fowler…. you want some REAL attention, one that doesn’t expose you as an infantile “I dare you” fool? WIN MORE THAN ONE TOURNAMENT AND DONATE THE ENTIRE PURSE. Not a measly hundred bucks.

Tiger? Jack? Arnie? It would never happen because at least those guy have an ounce of self-respect.

Wow! The most angry, hateful, mean-spirited comment I’ve seen in a long time.
Did you even read the reason why this is happening? It’s for charity.
Get off your high horse and smile. Your life might be a little better.

Any donation helps. Why must you be so hateful? I highly doubt you are donating all of your income. Some of us can still find joy in life and have a little fun every once in a while.

He was just in a hotel and didn’t have a full sized bucket. Still, all in all, this is a stupid thing.

I think this trend is both ridiculous and funny at the same time. Ian Poulter’s was hilarious

Tour Pro’s – Please stop doing this. Do yourselves a huge favor and just donate the $100 to a charity.
